Why you can’t miss it
Birdtalker is an alt-folk band from Nashville, Tennessee that was created accidentally on purpose. Zach and Dani Green, who double as bandmates and husband and wife, founded the group, but initially neither of them planned on pursuing music professionally. Dani’s background in literature, however, combined with Zack’s music prowess turned out to be the perfect fit, their haunting vocals mixing with brighter melodies to resemble The Overcoats and Of Monsters and Men.
As its songs began taking on a life of its own, Birdtalker acquired band members Andy Hubright, Brian Seligman and Jesse Baker through a mixture of friendships and happenstance meetings. Coming off the release of its freshman album in June, they have already developed a loyal fan base. Don't miss the chance to see why.
Song starter pack
The Hit: "Heavy"
This song became a Spotify sensation, boasting over 26 million listens. It exemplifies the band’s talent to lighten troubling emotions with cheerful rhythms.
The B-Side Beauty: "Want"
"Want" verges on hypnotizing. Dani's vocals create an easy listen allowing you to soak in the lyrics.
Can’t Wait to See It Live: "Nothing’s Right"
I have to disagree with Birdtalker here: Everything is just right with this song. Give it a listen, and you will hear why it won a pick of the week from Rolling Stone.
