Watching the news coming out of Ukraine over the past month, many may be asking themselves how they can help – in big ways and small – the citizens under siege.

We've asked ourselves that same question. So today OnMilwaukee, along with several media and business partners throughout the city, launches MKE for Ukraine, a one-day online fundraiser for UNICEF’s Humanitarian Relief in Ukraine and surrounding countries.

Fighting has taken an increasingly heavy toll on the civilian population, including 4 million displaced children. UNICEF has been working non-stop in eastern Ukraine by delivering lifesaving programs for affected children and families. And to help with their mission, MKE for Ukraine is raising money for these families in need.

Participating media outlets include Bustos Media; CBS58; Clear Channel Outdoor; Good Karma Broadcasting; iHeartMedia; Milwaukee Magazine; Milwaukee Radio Alliance; Milwaukee World Festivals, Inc; Pabst Theater Group; Wisconsin Center District; Milwaukee Brewers; and 88Nine Radio Milwaukee.

"We knew we could pull in our media and venue partners to make MKE for Ukraine even bigger," said Carolynn Buser, OnMilwaukee Chief Operating Officer. "Great things can happen when people come together."
