Buying a taco, a burger or even sushi from a truck parked on the street has become commonplace in our culture. And recently, the food truck concept inspired other mobile businesses to sell their wares from box trucks, buses, trailers, and other vehicles instead of having a traditional brick and mortar store.
Mobile Boutique Markets have popped up around the country and Milwaukee will soon host one, too.
re:Craft & Relic, one of Wisconsin's largest indoor up-cycling, re-purposing, and vintage events, will launch Milwaukee's first Mobile Boutique Market on Saturday, August 24 on East Buffalo Street in the Historic Third Ward. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"You're walking into a bus or a Winnebago that has been transform into a store, you can't do that every day. So, it's really an event that's more than just shopping, it's unique and creative, and most of all fun," says organizer Joshua Glidden. "There are mobile boutiques coming from all over Wisconsin and Illinois, there will be food trucks, and it's in the Third Ward, it's a recipe for a great day!"
The event will host approximately 20 vendors from Wisconsin and Illinois. Here is the current list of vendors:
