"MERCHANT OF VENICE" DOESN'T EVADE WORK'S ANTI-SEMITISM
Well-scripted and engaging, this romantic film deserves points not only
for going head to head with the work's anti-Semitism but for doing so
in a way that will make clear to viewers the despicable nature of hate.

Also opening this week:
BAD EDUCATION
Enrique (Fele Martínez), a young and successful film director, meets a mysterious
actor (Gael García Bernal, "The Motorcycle Diaries") who claims to be his old school
friend Ignacio. The two collaborate on Ignacio's screenplay, which deals with their
romantic relationship in a Spanish religious school during the early 1960s, where the
boys discovered love, movies and fear. Enrique soon suspects not everyone is as they
seem, but plays along with the masquerade to discover the truth about his old friend.
Directed by Pedro Almodóvar ("Talk to Her," "All About My Mother").

the women of their dreams. While coaching Albert, a meek accountant who
is smitten with a glamorous celebrity, Allegra Cole, Hitch finally
meets his match in the gorgeous, whip-smart Sara Melas, a
gossip columnist who follows Allegras every move. The ultimate

in love with Sara, a reporter whose biggest scoop could very well be

POOH'S HEFFALUMP MOVIE
Awakened by a rumbling that could only be made by the much-feared
Heffalump, the Hundred Acre Wood crew sets forth to catch the dreaded
creature. Disregarded as too young to partake in such a dangerous
expedition, little Roo opts to search on his own -- with far greater
success than his friends. But in meeting a young, playful Heffalump
named Lumpy, Roo quickly discovers that Heffalumps are nothing like the
creatures of the ominous stories hes been told, and that the creature
is equally afraid of his silly pals. Roo and Lumpy strike up a sweet
friendship and work together to dispel the unfounded fears of their
respective friends and families.

to America to find his family, but in the end, he helps his family find each other.
