Headed to Green Bay? We've got a slew of great recommendations for places to visit. But if you're art-inclined, you'll also want to make some time for a day trip to De Pere to check out their growing display of public art.
De Pere has long been an enclave for artists. But it hasn't always been a destination for public art. That changed in 2018 when The Downtown De Pere Mural Project promoted the creation of public art which aimed to convey the history of the city, along with its culture, spirit and vision for the future.
You can easily view the art on your own simply by strolling the historic streets in De Pere. But you can also do it more formally (and view new additions) during De Pere’s Art Walk series, formal events scheduled to showcase the work of local artists (includes jewelry, photography, ceramics, fiber art, etc.) as well as outdoor murals and permanent sculptures. Current Art Walk dates include July 1, 2022 and Aug. 5, 2022 [more info].
