The Bucks signed second-round draft pick David Noel to a multi-year contract today. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Noel, who played in college at the University of North Carolina was taken 39th overall.

"David is a terrific athlete who has the ability to make an impact on both ends of the floor," general manager Larry Harris said of Noel, 22, who is 6' 6" and weighs 230 pounds. "He is a tough, defensive-minded player with a solid offensive game.  He comes to us well-prepared, having played against top-level competition for four years at the University of North Carolina, and we're excited to have him in Milwaukee."

The Bucks also announced that forward Joe Smith underwent arthroscopic surgery Friday to remove loose cartilage in his right knee. The procedure was performed by Bucks orthopaedic physician John Heinrich at the Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin.
