Good news for hungry and / or artistic Milwaukeeans:

If all goes well, the North Avenue Grill will open at 7225 W. North Ave. in Wauwatosa in April 2012. The space was previously home to The Daymaker Cafe.

Jon Anne Willow and Mehrdad Dalamie – who previously owned the Bremen Cafe – have joined forces with Michael Gull to open a casual cafe offering breakfast, lunch and dinner that's affordable and family-friendly.

The menu will feature new and traditional American cuisine, along with burgers, crepes, Middle Eastern, tapas, vegetarian / vegan and gluten-free options.

"North Avenue Grill will feature hearty breakfasts served all day, plus burgers, sandwiches and salads, of course. But we'll also serve handmade crepes, at least eight different tapas, some of the world's best vegan chili, tasty gluten-free dishes and a few secret surprises to be announced when we print the menus. We're very excited over here," reads a Facebook status update.

North Avenue Grill will also showcase the work of local artists via rotating exhibits.
