Manuel Louzada, winemaker and director of Spain's Bodegas Numanthia (owned by Moet Hennessy), will be the guest of honor at a dinner featuring his wines at Bacchus, 925 E. Wells St., on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 6:30 p.m.
The dinner is $95 per person and includes pours of 2008 Termes (91 points Wine Spectator), 2007 Numanthia (94 points Robert Parker) and 2007 Termanthia (97+ points Robert Parker), which usually sells for more than $150 a bottle and is vinified from the fruit of vines that are more than a century old.
There will also be a Champagne and a dessert wine and Bartolotta's James Beard Award-winning Chef Adam Siegel is creating a five-course dinner to highlight these wines. Among the dishes: grilled calamari and grilled quail breast.
