Thanks to holiday demand from fans across the globe, Racine’s O&H Danish Bakery is baking up more than 7,000 kringle each day.
Among them is a brand new holiday kringle: Christmas Cookie Kringle, which is available in all O&H stores beginning today.
The limited edition kringle is an homage to baking Christmas cookies, one of the Olesen family’s most beloved traditions. It’s also a celebration of the act of passing family recipes along through the generations, something which the family-owned bakery has been actively doing for 73 years.
“Each Christmas, I most look forward to having my grandchildren over to make our family’s famous butter cookie recipe, which is the inspiration behind this year’s holiday kringle,” says Eric Olesen, third generation co-owner of O&H Danish Bakery. “The Christmas Cookie Kringle might be my favorite new flavor to date. Each bite takes me back to those cherished family memories. We can’t wait for you to share this delicious treat with your families this year!”
The special Christmas Cookie Kringle begins with 36 layers of flaky pastry dough which is formed into the traditional oval shape and filled with a butter cookie filling that’s made with premium vanilla and cookie paste. It’s topped off with creamy holiday-colored frosting and plenty of festive sprinkles.
In addition to the Christmas Cookie Kringle, fans can also pick up returning holiday favorites including A Very Danish Christmas Kringle (cherry almond; inspired by the Danish Risalmande dessert), Cranberry Kringle and Christmas Fudge Kringle, which is back for a second year due to popular demand.
Customers can visit any of the five Wisconsin O&H Bakery stores to purchase the Christmas Cookie Kringle and other treats or order online at ohdanishbakery.com.
