After Sunday's cathartic 41-17 clobbering of the Vikings, this chaotic Packers season has suddenly gotten very simple: Win the final game of the season this weekend and they're in the playoffs. OK, not entirely simple – because while we know this weekend's game is critical, we didn't know when this weekend's game ... actually kicks off. Until now.

Thanks to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, we now know the game times for this final football weekend – and the Packers' high-pressure matchup against the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field will be the final regular season game of the year, kicking off on Sunday Night Football at 7:20 p.m.

The choice of Packers-Lions on Sunday night certainly makes sense from a ratings perspective for the NFL, considering it's a critical battle between divisional rivals – one of which is one of the most popular teams in the world – with the picturesque backdrop of Lambeau Field in winter. As far as the actual football goes, the Lions may not have much to play for on Sunday night because if the Seattle Seahawks beat the Los Angeles Rams during the 3 p.m. window, Detroit's eliminated from postseason contention. But for Green Bay, no matter what, Sunday night's matchup matters: If they beat the Lions, they've made the playoffs. And if they don't, well, the offseason comes early. 

So keep your Sunday night open: The Packers will play for their playoff lives at home against the Lions at 7:20 p.m. on NBC (or Peacock if you prefer to stream the game). Wild: The last time the Pack played Detroit, they lost and all hope seemed lost. Two months later, they play Detroit and all hope seems possible. Sports, man.
