For the ninth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, dining guides, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as voting for your "Best of Dining 2015."

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the holidays, and enjoy afternoon tea at the Pfister.

For over 20 years, The Pfister Hotel has honored its Victorian heritage by serving afternoon tea each season from November through March.

This year, tea service will take place at Blu on the 23rd floor. Guests will enjoy a panoramic view of Lake Michigan and the Milwaukee skyline, along with their choice of fresh scones, cheeses, sandwiches and pastries.

To provide for a more personalized experience, The Pfister offers a tableside tea blending, presented by a Pfister Tea Butler who attends to every detail of service – providing information on each tea’s origin, variety, unique flavors, effects on mood and health, blending options and perfect pairings. The Tea Butlers use an all-silver service and individual brewing units for each style of tea to ensure that tea varieties are brewed to the correct temperature.

The teas featured this year will come from Milwaukee-based Rishi Tea and will include 12 varieties, including everything from cinnamon plum and tangerine ginger to vanilla bean and chocolate chai.

Guests can also enjoy the Pfister’s signature blend tea, Pfister 1893, featuring a blend of jasmine and wild rose scented white teas infused with rejuvenating peppermint and calming lavender. The blend celebrates The Pfister's opening in the year 1893, at the height of the Victorian era when boutique tea salons were popular in Europe.

Afternoon tea is held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons, Nov. 7 through March 27 with seatings at 1, 1:30, and 2 p.m. Reservations are required; call (414) 935-5942 or online at customercare@marcushotels.com.

Private bookings are also available for groups of 12 to 30 people. To book, contact Kerry Doyne at 414.298.3147 or email her at kerrydoyne@marcushotels.com.
