Additional information

According to additional information emailed to me by the management of Pizza Man, "The closure follows unsuccessful negotiations with the landlord regarding a lease extension. In addition to the present economical difficulties the restaurant industry endures."

“We are heartbroken to close our Wauwatosa location, but we are immensely grateful for the incredible support we’ve received here. Despite our efforts to extend the lease, we could not reach an agreement that supported our vision moving forward.”

The Wauwatosa location of Pizza Man opened its doors at the Mayfair Collection in June of 2015. That was just two years after Pizza Man was resurrected on the East Side following the blaze that destroyed their original location on Oakland and North Avenues.

In 2024, following an ill-fated move from Downer Avenue to Humboldt, Pizza Man was sold to new ownership.  The new owners moved the restaurant back to the Downer Avenue location and reopened it in September of 2024.
