After nine years in its current location in the Third Ward, Present Music will move to a Riverwest mixed-use space featuring artist studios, creative businesses and more called The Nut Factory, 3720 N. Fratney St.

"We have been searching for a conducive and affordable office space for almost a full year now," says marketing director Tai Renfrow. "With the sale of the Broadway Theater Center last fall and rising prices in rent in the Downtown area, it was necessary for us to move."

Present Music will have a holiday open house in the new digs on Monday, Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited.

Present Music, currently located at 158 N. Broadway, picked the Nut Factory because it's within close proximity of other artists and creative businesses. Renfrow says it will also have more space and she hopes to display Present Music's vast collection of commissioned works in its music library.

"We’re so excited to be joining the other local business owners and artists in the Nut Factory," says Renfrow.

Artist Todd Mrozinski is a long-time Nut Factory studio resident who believes Present Music is a great fit for the building. Mrozinski shares the space with his wife and fellow artist / henna artist, Renee Bebeau. 

"It's wonderful that the creative force of Present Music will be joining the dynamic group of artists at the Nut Factory," says Mrozinski.

Present Music is Milwaukee’s internationally acclaimed new music ensemble that commissions, performs, records and tours the music of living composers. In the past 25 years, more than 65 new works by composers from around the world have come into existence because of Present Music.

Kevin Stalheim founded Present Music 37 years ago and will retire after this season.
