Five question marks have sprouted on the fenced green space next to Café Vecchio Mondo at the corner of Juneau Avenue and Old World Third Street Downtown.  The space, formerly home to a Car X muffler shop has been talked about in recent years as the site of a new hotel or mixed-use development.

Vecchio owner Russ Davis says he knows what's up with the three-dimensional interrogative punctuation, but he’s not telling.

“I am sworn to secrecy, and am only one of a few people that know.”

The city won’t talk either.  When asked via e-mail, Andrea Rowe Richards, communications manager for the City of Milwaukee Dept. of City Development, wrote, “I sure do but I can't say anything just yet.”

In other news, Café Vecchio’s patio has become even more charming this season with landscaping and large cabanas that enhance the outdoor drinking and eating experience.
