{image1}Borrego's Mexican restaurant, 223 N. Water St. -- the only Mexican eatery in the Third Ward -- closed its doors on Saturday, May 28 but will be replaced by the Riverwalk Bistro, which was slated to open Thursday, June 2.

Riverwalk Bistro is owned by the Zanotti Family (Club Havana) who worked with Rick Schmidt, the man (with his brother RC) behind a number of local eateries, including Water Street Brewery and Brew City Bar-B-Q, to re-open the restaurant.

Borrego's, run by the Borrego family, which ran the original Rudy's restaurant in Walker's Point, opened in February 2004.
