This Saturday,  take care of your mental health during the Riverwest Mental Health Resource Fest at the Falcon Bowl, 801 E. Clarke St., from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Between busy schedules, personal commitments, family matters, chores and endless responsibilities, it can be easy to forget about your mental wellness.

However, event organizers Leslie Peckham and Cassie Caminiti recognize that access to mental health resources to aid in someone's mental health journey should never be a chore.

“When finding a therapist, I frequently hear issues of how to find a therapist,  how this works with insurance and how will I know if this is the right fit,” said Peckham.

“My goal here is to demystify the process of finding a therapist by putting them where the people are.”

Start your journey this weekend and take a deep dive into mental health and wellness during this pay-what-you-can event that provides you with resource-sharing, discussion panels, therapy and local health resource vendors.

The schedule of events will include a therapy panel at noon with a discussion with five mental health providers on therapy and finding the right provider plus a Q&A to follow.

The community wellness panel will take place at 2 p.m. with a discussion with community organizers on the role and connection and gathering as groups on mental health.

A free therapy consultation at 3 p.m. features a meet and greet with providers from the therapy panel with a 5-10 minute consultation.

“All of the therapists I have coming have room in their books to take on more clients,” said Peckham. “My hope here is that I can help even 5 people move toward a path that is better for them.”

Plus, the Riverwest Mental Health Resource Fest will feature nine vendors from nutrition, sobriety, shadow work and more.
