The city's first large scale, eco-lifestyle music festival will take place in Veteran's Park on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009. The event will feature five bands, eclectic eats and promote environmental sustainability.

The artists will be announced next year, but the event management firm, LuLu Live, got the word out early to attract corporate sponsorships from environmentally-friendly local businesses.

A portion of the "Rock the Green" proceeds will go to the Urban Ecology Center and the Greater Johnsons Park Initiative, an urban green project.

"We are pleased to welcome the city's first eco-lifestyle festival 'Rock the Green' at Milwaukee County's Veterans Park," said Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker.  "It will be a great chance to enjoy music and fun at the lakefront while learning more about the benefits of going 'green'."
