Enlightened Brewing is releasing another trio of Rough Draught Series beers – all brewed from the same wort – this weekend, and soon, it will take part in an event that focuses on the series, too.

This weekend’s Enjoy the Atmosphere beers (with descriptions from the brewery) are:

  • Troposphere, a 4.3 percent ABV juicy IPA fermented with Cosmic Punch and dry hopped with a single addition of Galaxy
  • Mesosphere, a 4.6 percent ABV juicy IPA fermented with Cosmic Punch and dry hopped with a single addition of Galaxy and Falconers Flight
  • Exosphere, a 4.6 percent ABV double dry hopped juicy IPA fermented with Cosmic Punch with one addition of Galaxy and Falconers Flight and a later addition of Huell Melon and Motueka

“We’re pretty stoked,” says Co-owner and Founder Tommy Vandervort. “We layered the dry-hop courses to create three unique beers.”

The beers will be released on Saturday, March 5 at the brewery taproom, 2020 S. Allis St., in Bay View.

Meat & Co. will be on hand selling food at the release. More info here.

Rough Draught hits the road on Thursday, April 14 (Milwaukee Day!), as it heads over to Ray’s Growler Gallery in Wauwatosa for a Behind the Beer events.

“People will be able to try some of these taproom-only beers at one of our favorite stores/tasting rooms,” says Vandervort.

Stay tuned for more info on this one.

Vandervort says that Enlightened is also bringing back its popular block parties this year.

“We're planning three more block parties this year in the same vein as the ones we did in 2021,” he says. “Our anniversary block party date is inked in for Saturday, May 21."

Here are details (from Enlightened) on the three Rough Draught brews being tapped at that rain-or-shine event:

"Allis" – Named for our current (and hopefully longtime) home at 2020 S. Allis St - this beer was made with an experimental hop from Michigan Hop Alliance that was bred from Cascade and tinkered with to express tropical and berry aromas. 8.5% ABV - Star Party yeast.
"Becher" – The cross street of our second brewery and first taproom in the Lincoln Warehouse that we occupied for about 4 years, including some overlap time after opening brewery 3 at Louis Allis. The beer is 8.1% ABV and dry hopped with Sultana, formerly an experimental hop by Hopsteiner and also known as Denali. Huge pineapple, citrus, and pine aromas - some brewers refer to this hop as Nuggetzilla because its cones and aromas are so big. Star Party yeast.
"1st Street" – Named for the first street the brewery called home starting in Summer of 2013, when the Lincoln Warehouse was still fairly anonymous and dimly lit with more workshops, music studios and band practice spaces than small businesses. 500 square feet of space got us started selling to bars and restaurants without a taproom! The beer is 8.5% ABV dry-hopped with Ariana (a new variety released by Hull's research center in Germany) for some juicy dark fruit aromas with some smooth oak and vanilla in the deep background. Star Party yeast."

There will also be live music, food trucks and more. Taproom opens at noon, outdoor seating at 3, live music at 5. Outdoor action will fade about 10 but the taproom will remain open until midnight.
