While doing research on some TV reporters for our April Fool's edition, I came across this amusing and ridiculous Web site that ranks America's " Sexiest Female Local Reporters, Weathergals and Anchors."
Apparently, registered users nominate their favorite reporters, then other users can vote "for" or "against" them, determining their rank (there are currently 491 women in the list).
Milwaukee's reporters didn't fare incredibly well, but take this list with many grains of salt.
Topping Milwaukee's crop is former WISN-12 anchor Tammy Elliott, who came in with a rank of 35 (488 votes cast). At No. 39 is another former Milwaukee reporter, WITI-6's Rena Sarigianopoulos (462 votes). WTMJ-4's Courtny Gerrish ranked 68 (260 votes) and Melanie Stout ranked No. 86 (184 votes). Bringing up the rear, WDJT-58's Jae Miller came in at a lowly No. 376 (with two votes).
Before you get too hung up on these numbers, remember that this is a popularity contest, and Milwaukee's market size (in the mid 30s) works against it. That could be why the current leader is Dayna Roselli (Las Vegas). The runner-up, Julie Staley, however, represents Springfield, Ill. (maybe she just has a lot of male fans).
That said, do check out many of the top reporters on the list. I'll let you judge for yourself, but supermodels they are not. I'm not yellin', I'm just sayin': I'd put Milwaukee's entries up against Staley any day of the week.
So, if you want, enjoy this silly but popular Web site. And if you care, vote your hometown reporters up a few notches. It'll only take a few more clicks to push Elliott over Boston's Bianca de la Garza.
