During the weekly "Tuesdays with 'Rillo" segment this morning on "The D-List," veteran Brewers infielder Jeff Cirillo said that it looked like injured right-hander Ben Sheets "was throwing pretty hard" in the bullpen Monday night at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.

There hasn't been a lot of news on the Sheets front lately, but the right-hander -- sidelined with shoulder tendinitis since early May -- has been throwing from the mound somewhat regularly lately.

Insiders have intimated that the Brewers are a bit puzzled and not a little frustrated by Sheets' reluctance to "let it go" during his side sessions last month. Although diagnostic tests and strength evaluations don't indicate a major problem, Sheets has maintained that his arm "doesn't feel right." The fact that he was popping the ball in the bullpen could be a good sign, but it's still unlikely that he will return until after the all-star break -- if at all.

(The D-List airs daily from 9 a.m. to noon on Milwaukee's ESPN Radio (1510 Days / 1290 Nights), with the final two hours simulcast on Madison's Fox Sports Radio (100.5 FM). The show also can be heard at www.espnmilwaukee.com.
