Winterfest is coming.
The annual Shorewood event, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 3 will mark the official start to the holiday season. Bring the kids and stroll through the Village of Shorewood on this festive evening filled with fun activities from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The official Village tree and menorah lighting will take place at 5 p.m. in Wood Square (Oakland and Wood Place). Guests can take advantage of free cups of hot chocolate from Mod Pizza as well as a cookie decorating station located near the holiday tree.
There's also magic and wonder to be found at Brio Studios between 4 and 7 p.m. They will be hosting a winter wonderland experience featuring Elsa, Anna, and Christoph from “Frozen”. There will be dancing, hot chocolate, face painting, and more.
Children are also invited to write a letter to Santa Claus in advance of Winterfest. Letters can be dropped off during the event at the mailbox located near 4144 N. Oakland Ave. (the former Hiya Taco).
Meet Santa
Of course, children of all ages are also invited to express their wishes in person. Santa will be making his rounds throughout the Village during the event. Catch him at these scheduled locations:
3:30 p.m.: Blackbear Children's Boutique, 4312 N. Oakland Ave.
4 p.m.: Scout Wine Merchants, 4512 N. Oakland Ave. (enjoy complimentary bubbles while Santa is in the house)
4:30 p.m.: Draft & Vessel, 4417 N. Oakland Ave. (grab a cup of free hot chocolate while you wait)
5 p.m.: Tree & menorah lighting (Mod Pizza will providing free hot chocolate for attendees)
5:45 p.m.: Brio Studios, 4121 N. Wilson Dr.
6:15 p.m.: Signature Sweets, 3801 N. Oakland Ave. (they will be handing out free cupcakes)
6:45 p.m.: Harry's Bar & Grill, 3549 N. Oakland Ave.
