West Side diners lose a neighborhood option this week as Shuckers Tiki Crabhouse and Oyster Bar, 7835 W. Burleigh St., closes on Saturday.

Shuckers replaced Z Cafe' in the Cooper Park neighborhood space early in 2010, describing itself as, "a unique Tiki Revival restaurant concept. The fusion of Polynesian cultures and cuisines, brought by multi-ethnic immigrants to the Hawaiian Islands ... where East meets West."

A posting by Joe Hausch, who created the restaurant's Facebook group suggested that the closing is temporary and that the restaurant will "retool."

But owner Albert Yee -- who also owns World On a Plate Catering -- said he is still unsure whether or not he will reopen in the space.

"It's been tough times," he said. "But I'm still going to continue my catering business and I'm also in the concessions business."

In the meantime, you've got one last chance to get a fish fry there -- tonight -- and one last surf and turf platter, tomorrow night.
