Sil's Mini Donut Shop, 1802 E. North Ave., will close at the end of April. The lease for the uniquely-shaped structure on the corner of North and Oakland Avenues was not renewed, but co-owner Susan Beaumont says the business will remain at the 7 Mile Fair and summer festivals.

Sil's specializes in bite-sized donuts made fresh to order, along with hotdogs and coffee drinks. The iconic drive-thru donut shop was open until 2:30 a.m. and a bar-time favorite.

"We love what we do and we love the people we do it for," says Beaumont. "We're grateful for years of loyalty."

The structure and the corner that house Sil's were redeveloped by the East Side Business Improvement District in cooperation with Charney Trust, the landlord.  Sil's has been at the location for nearly 10 years.
