Welcome to a weekly segment called "Social Circle." It's truly a group effort between readers, social networkers and the OnMilwaukee.com editors. Every Monday, we ask a question via Facebook and Twitter and then post the responses from our Facebook "likers" and Twitter followers in this column. Well-known Milwaukee movers and shakers will contribute, too.

Founded in Milwaukee in 1855 by Frederick Miller, Miller Brewing Co. is a Brew City institution. But not every Milwaukeean indulges in the products. Turns out, the beer is controversial and members of the Social Circle weighed in this week with opinions ranging from "it's swill" to "it's great."

Where do you fall on the Miller beer spectrum? Let us know via the Talkback feature. And cheers!

Elaine Alred: "I am a High Life girl. It's good and affordable."

Frederick Scott Cruz: "Miller is great. Not made with rice like Anheiser Busch products."

Kelly Kessler Fay: "I much prefer Guinness. Miller products don't have any flavor, in my opinion. Oddly enough, during my last trip to Ireland, Miller Lite was very popular with the locals."

Sue Knight: "I'm not drinking beer I can see through. Oatmeal stouts (Founders!), nutbrowns, Eastside Dark. Thank you, Lakefront Brewery."

Katharina Hren: "I am a beer snob. I drink it so rarely that it might as well be a very good beer. I prefer Guinness."

Laura Hoffman-Stratte: "I never drink Miller products."

Tina Hulen: "Blue Moon is the only one I drink, but it's not my favorite. Spotted Cow is my first choice."

Juli Kaufmann: "No. 1 choice: craft beer from Milwaukee. Too many to choose. No. 2 choice: craft beer from Wisconsin. No. 3 choice: craft beer from anywhere. Miller products are not beer - they are advertising in a bottle / can. When I am super hot and super desperate, I can chug a MGD and not hate it, but prefer Pabst or Schlitz on taste if I must drink macro."

Tammy Kolbe: "I always drink Lite. Always have. So does my dad."

Alex Lena: "High Life. It's the champagne of beers."

Jackie Valent Lucca: "Not a fan at all. Blue Moon is now a Miller Coors product and that is OK, but there are just so many good beers out there that folks should be drinking."

Bill Markut: "I like Batch 19 and High Life. Otherwise I drink locals."

Sheila Neumann: "Yuck. No flavor."

Tonto Sczymanski: "Hamms is awesome for the price."

Mitchell Wakefield: "Leinenkugel's Big Eddy Russian Imperial Stout is the only true connisseur's beer brewed by Miller Coors. High Life, Peroni and Pilsner Urquell are very good beers. Genuine Draft, Blue Moon, Miller Lite, Coor's Light and some other Leinie's flavors are all passable under the right circumstances. Berry Weiss, Summer Shandy and MGD 64 (either with lemonade in it or without) are true abominations to the beer world and are best classified as wine coolers, IMHO."
