Prepare for feats even more death-defying and jaw-dropping than that time they deep-fried butter: The Wisconsin State Fair has added a brand new circus spectacular to this summer's edition.

Hosted in a big-top tent found on the south side of the the grounds, the new Cirque at the Fair will feature acrobats, aerial tricks, juggling skills, archery stunts, clown comedy and other iconic circus showcases.

Performers will take the tented stage three times a day Mondays through Fridays at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., as well as four times a day on Saturdays and Sundays at noon, 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Shows are free to attend – though, if you want the best seat in the house, VIP ringside seats are available for $10 at the Wisconsin State Fair's website

The new daily Cirque at the Fair joins a 2023 entertainment slate including Main Stage acts like Alabama, Jeff Dunham, REO Speedwagon, Lindsey Stirling and Trace Adkins, as well as its previously announced Bank Five Nine Amphitheater lineup.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
