Prepare your nightmares: One of the great literary horror masters is making his way to Milwaukee.
Indeed, celebrate Halloween a month early this year, as horror icon Stephen King – with his son and fellow author Owen King – will come to the Riverside Theater for a special live conversation, presented by Boswell Book Company, on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 8 p.m.
Admission to the special event won't merely get you in the door; it'll also nab you a hardcover copy of "Sleeping Beauties," an upcoming father-son collaboration between the Kings about a world suddenly without women, rendered unconscious and cocooned while the planet's men are stuck desperate for answers. And while there will not be an author signing at the Riverside event, up to 400 attendees will be picked at random to receive a pre-signed copy of the novel.
Tickets for the special event cost $32 and will go on sale starting Friday, June 16 at noon. However, there will be a special presale on Wednesday, June 14 at noon, as well. For more information on the show and tickets, visit the Riverside's website.
It'll be the perfect capper to what's looking like a King-filled conclusion to the summer, what with "The Dark Tower" coming out in August and "It" coming out the next month.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
