If you didn't know, the history of Summerfest involves influence from the traditional German Oktoberfest. In 2025, those worlds will collide once again.
On Thursday morning, Maier World Festival Inc. and Swarmm Events announced that the Milwaukee Oktoberfest celebration will be coming to Henry Maier Festival Park, set to take place from October 3-5 this year.
The event will utilize three areas of the festival grounds; the Aurora Pavilion, the Northwestern Mutual Community Stage, and the Hofbrau Beer Garden Commons, with entertainment spanning from 4-10 p.m. on Friday, October 3 and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. the following Saturday and Sunday. A mixture of jazz, blues, and traditional German brass bands are currently on the schedule.
In addition to the music, traditional German food and beer will be provided by Kegel’s Inn. No other food vendors have been named yet, but the restaurant will offer the staples of their West Allis location menu.
Each day will offer a variety of activities as well, including stein hoisting, a cornhole tournament, the Miss Oktoberfest pageant, a Weiner Dog pageant and much more.
