Love Uncle Wolfie’s Breakfast Tavern? Well, you’ll love the changes coming to their sister restaurant The Wolf on Broadway, the cozy sundrenched eatery at 600 N. Broadway.
Beginning Thursday, June 13, the Downtown restaurant will open its doors under a new name: Uncle Wolfie’s Dinner Diner.
As part of the shift, the menu will be adjusted to include a number of Uncle Wolfie’s originals like the BELTCH sandwich, the Big McAllister and their signature hand-cut fries. A few Breakfast Tavern cocktails will also be added, including The Groggy Mick and housemade bloody marys.
Meanwhile, guests who’ve fallen in love with Chef Kristen Schwab’s creations like the popular Irma’s Chicken Sandwich, the Chili Crisp Fish Sandwich or Beef Rendang Puffs needn’t fear. Those items will remain on the menu complemented by an assortment of new creative, fun comfort food dishes from Schwab and her team.
Owners Wolfgang Schaefer and Whitney McAllister note that the changes were not made lightly. In fact, they’ve spent the past few months taking a hard look at the concept and how to ensure its future success. As they did, the name Uncle Wolfie’s Dinner Diner resurfaced. It was one of the original names they’d considered for the new restaurant before it opened and is the name which now seems the most appropriate.
To celebrate the grand re-opening, Uncle Wolfie’s Dinner Diner will be giving away $25 gift cards (good for use on a future visit) to the first 20 tables who visit the restaurant for dinner service between 5 and 9 p.m.
