"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" finally comes out tonight, and as one who saw a preview screening of it earlier this week (with a full review posting tomorrow), I think a lot of viewers are going to need a hug and maybe some therapy afterward.
Let this trailer for "The LEGO Batman Movie" – released today by Warner Bros. as if they knew we'd need something – be your salve, film-going audiences. Let its charming waves of humor and amusement wash the pain away.
It's not much – as you'd expect for a movie that's still pretty much a whole year out – but it's a fun, silly little snapshot of the version of Batman that pretty much stole the show in "The LEGO Movie." And come the end of this weekend, I think we'll all agree that "Batman v Superman" needed more lobster thermidor.
"The Lego Batman Movie" arrives Feb. 10 next year. Hopefully by that time, we as a society will have at least begun the post-"BvS" healing process.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
