The movie "Tropic Thunder" -- which opens in theaters nationwide today -- received a lot of advance publicity because groups that advocate for people with disabilities did not like one of the movie's subplots, which uses the word "retard" to describe an actor who once played a disabled character.

A friend whose opinion I trust saw the movie at media previews and called it "savagely funny satire," that rips Hollywood, political correctness and other conventions.

My friend thinks it's going to be a huge hit. Here is the trailer. Decide for yourself if you want to see it.
