{image1} "Voices of Summer: Baseball's Greatest Announcers," written by baseball historian Curt Smith, is out with its list of the 101 best baseball broadcasters. Smith created the ranking system based on longevity, continuity, language, popularity, knowledge and voice; and Bob Uecker, the voice of our beloved Brewers, comes in No. 12.

Uecker ranks behind the likes of Vin Scully (No. 1), Jack Buck (No. 4), Harry Caray (No. 6) and Dizzy Dean (No. 9). Other Milwaukee-related notables making the list include Merle Harmon (No. 32), Ray Scott (No. 76) and Earl Gillespie (No. 81). The book is available at Amazon and in bookstores.
