{image1}The UWM Union will offer an artistic look at the ways Milwaukeeans get around their city. The free exhibit, entitled "Transport Milwaukee," will be open to the public March 12 in the union concourse during regular building hours: 6 a.m. to midnight daily.
The concourse is located at 2200 E. Kenwood Blvd. on the street level of the Student Union.
The exhibit includes work by local artists Ann Baer, Terry Vandenhoven, John Riepenhoff and Brooke Fadeski. Artwork focuses on the methods in which people travel in and around Milwaukee, including the methods of transportation and transportation scenes.
"We have a little something for everyone from all walks of life to see, from paintings of the Marquette Interchange, a bus scene and Harley-Davidsons to an actual Buell Blast from the House of Harley," says UWM Union Art Gallery Manager Steve Jaeger. "MPTV episodes of 'I Remember Milwaukee' and a multi-media installation piece will also be a part of the exhibition."
"Transport Milwaukee" is part of the UWM Union Art Gallery's Concourse Art Series. Sponsors include the House of Harley, The Milwaukee County Transit System, and Andrew Chevrolet. For more information about this exhibit, contact the UWM Union Art Gallery at (414) 229-6310.
