With their 69-63 victory over Wright State in the Horizon League championship, the UWM Panthers have already provided the 2014 NCAA tournament with its first dose of madness. Now, it's just a matter of finding out where our local Cinderella will end up and who they will play.
For those who want to find out along with the team and fellow fans, UWM is hosting a Selection Sunday pairings party on Sunday, March 16 at The Gasthaus in the basement of the UWM Union. The event is free and open to all UWM students and staff, as well as the general public.
The Gasthaus opens at 2 p.m. on Sunday, but the party itself starts at 4 p.m. with UWM head coach Rob Jeter and the entire Panther squad in attendance. The gathering will then turn its attention to the Selection Sunday seeding announcement show, which airs live at 5 p.m. on CBS.
Free parking is available in the Union garage.
As of his latest update, ESPN bracketology expert Joe Lunardi projects UWM to nab the 15 seed in the Midwest bracket, which would have them playing 2-seed Kansas in the second round in St. Louis.
