The Marcus Family, owner of Marcus Investments LLC, and also a controlling stakeholder in the Marcus Corporation, today announced the acquisition of Fort Atkinson-based Verlo Mattress Factory Stores, the nation's only franchisee store model in the sleep specialty industry.

The new Verlo Mattress Factory headquarters will be based in Milwaukee, with Chris Nolte serving as CEO, Thomas Cass as company president and Scott Baitinger as CMO.

The announcement comes four months after the acquisition of the Southeastern Wisconsin Verlo Mattress Factory Store franchises by Marcus Investments.   Last January, Marcus Investments partnered with several area restaurants including AJ Bombers.  

"When we bought the Milwaukee franchisee stores, we quickly realized what a tremendous organization Verlo was, and we saw the potential to really impact other franchisees on a broader scale by providing more support," said David Marcus, president of Marcus Investments.

Verlo was founded in 1958 by Dale Williams and Guy Day.
