Late Monday evening, WTMJ announced that Bonnie Petrie will join "Wisconsin Morning News," serving as anchor alongside host Gene Mueller. 

For almost 20 years, Petrie – an Upstate New York native – has worked in the journalism business in cities including Houston, Dallas and Albany, winning awards along the way for anchoring, feature writing, series writing and production. She will start her time on-air at WTMJ on Monday, July 13 with a stint on "Wisconsin's Afternoon News" with John Mercure before getting integrated into the morning news in August. 

"We were looking for very specific qualities in a news anchor to join Gene Mueller and Wisconsin's Morning News" said Tom Langmyer, vice president and general manager of WTMJ Radio, in a press release. "Bonnie combines the qualities of experience in large news organizations, leadership depth, ideas, great writing ability, work-ethic, drive, an engaging personality and the passion for being an active part of our community."
