The Harley-Davidson Museum pays tribute to the iconic black leather jacket and its history in its summer exhibit "Worn to be Wild: The Black Leather Jacket."
The exhibit, presented in partnership with the EMP Museum, chronicles the history of this unique fashion accessory from its role as a functional piece meant to protect pilots and motorcyclists, through its rebellious phase as a fashion staple of counter-culture America to its modern couture incarnations.
"Worn to be Wild: The Black Leather Jacket" will showcase more than 100 artifacts and dozens of jackets, including those worn by Elvis Presley, "Spinal Tap" star Harry Shearer and "Twilight" actor Taylor Lautner.
The exhibit runs June 16 through Sept. 3.
