Earlier today we learned that former alderman and 2020 mayoral candidate Tony Zielinski put his controversial house on the market, as first reported by Urban Milwaukee.

In 2017, Zielinski razed a 1921-built home on Superior Street in Bay View and replaced it with a massive 6,000-square-foot, three-story living space. Many neighbors were irate, saying the house was too large for the lot and disrespected the other homes on the block due to its outlandish appearance.

The house is for sale for $2,095,000.

This past weekend, local band Two and a Half Stars released an album containing a song about the monstrous property, which is called "Sorry," in honor of Bay View Community Day which took place throughout the community (with pandemic-respecting provisions) on Saturday.

During the event, the band played the song live on a band member's front porch, just blocks from the Zielinski mansion. Song lyrics include "it's too big, too tall, too full of gall..." and refer to the house as "40 feet of irony."

Despite the serendipitous timing of the song release and the announcement that Zielinksi's mansion was on the market, Two and a Half Stars' frontman Jon Newcomb swears it's strictly coincidence.

"I totally deny any allegations that this catchy release is the reason for the sudden sale," jokes Newcomb.

Or is it?
