It’s official. 1700 Pull Up has officially opened its doors for both lunch and dinner service at 1848 W. Fond Du Lac Ave.
After a few weeks of offering counter service and carry-out at her new restaurant, Chef and Owner Rosetta Bond has launched soft opening service for both lunch and dinner with a full grand opening planned for Sunday, Dec. 11.
Currently, hours are limited to Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, on Nov. 9th, the restaurant will add Wednesday service from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., followed by Saturday service beginning Nov. 19th from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Bond says she feels blessed to have been able to hire a full staff for the restaurant, including Ashley Hayes who has taken on the position of general manager at 1700 Pull Up, which has allowed the restaurant to open for full-service dining.
“I’m so excited to finally be open,” notes Bond, who has spent the past few months working hard to create a bright, welcoming eatery. “This has been everything I’ve wished for and more and I can’t wait to welcome even more new people at the restaurant.”
She smiles. “Guests are still more than welcome to pull up for carry-out,” she adds. “But we’d really love it if you’d come in and enjoy your meal here with us.”
What to expect
During the soft opening, guests are invited to seat themselves and peruse the daily menus, which will be showcased on chalkboards next to the bar while they wait for a server to drop by the table to take their order.
Seating is available at the restaurant’s spacious new bar, which offers seating for about 10 guests, plus a full menu of classic and signature cocktails (including a peach mojito, a take on the lemon drop called the Mickey Martini and house sangria), along with craft brews on tap and a selection of wines.
But guests can also choose from a variety of seating options in the dining room, including four-top window seating, banquette seating along the west wall or cozy booth seating in the back of the restaurant.
The restaurant’s enclosed back patio is also fair game, sporting patio heaters to extend the season.
On the menu
The menu at 1700 Pull-Up will offer a core of items, which will be available on a daily basis. That includes chicken wings, burgers and baked chicken along with sides like French fries, candied yams, macaroni and cheese, dressing and housemade greens.
But guests can also look forward to daily specials which could include salmon, alfredo, lamb chops or lamb steaks and stuffed chicken breasts.
On Thursdays, guests can count on guests can count on finding Bond’s luscious turkey legs (both regular smoked or jerk-seasoned) served with toppings like yams, greens, dressing, macaroni and cheese or alfredo. And, on Fridays, guests will find special fried fish features.
Meanwhile, Sundays will feature Bond’s soul food menu, which will always offer a choice of three proteins, along with a variety of Southern sides. Depending on the week, guests will be able to choose from entrees like smothered pork chops, fried chicken, pot roast, meatloaf, fried catfish, rotisserie chicken or turkey meatballs and gravy served over pasta.
Guests can also stop in for Happy Hour, which includes an ever-changing slate of drink specials, Thursday and Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. or for Sunday Funday every Sunday between 2 and 5 p.m. In addition, guests can stop by on game days to catch NBA or NFL games on the bar’s televisions.
Thanksgiving meals
1700 Pull Up will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24.
However, Bond says that she is proud to partner with two other local businesses – Care Matters and Zoe’s Barber Shop – to offer free meals for families in need on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24.
“We want 1700 Pull Up to be a place for everyone,” says Bond. “And we want to use our restaurant to contribute to and give back to the community.”
Hours of operation
Currently, 1700 Pull Up is open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On Nov. 9th, Wednesday service from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. will be added; and beginning Nov. 19th, the restaurant will launch Saturday service from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
From there on out, the restaurant will operate six days a week with hours Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
