My annual article, 52 Restaurants for your Bucket List, was originally created to provide readers with an easy way to explore the wealth of restaurants in the Milwaukee scene over the course of one year (52 weeks). Today, as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, it provides a fun and equally compelling guide for folks who’d like to bring variety to their weekly meals while providing vital support to some of our finest local restaurants.
Here's the featured restaurant of the day, plus five dishes to try!
Proof Pizza
139 E. Kilbourn Ave., (414) 270-4433

If you haven’t found reason to visit Saint Kate, Milwaukee’s first Arts Hotel, allow the draw of delicious pizza to inspire a trip. Proof pizzas are made with a nod to the Neapolitan style featuring a soft chewy crust with a crisp exterior and a crust dappled with char. The toppings are fresh and the pies affordable. Be sure to order your pie unsliced if you opt for carry-out or delivery.
Five dishes to try:
- Chopped chicken salad with Caesar dressing, spinach, romaine, Red Rock chicken, chickpeas, red onion, dates, peppadew peppers, almonds ($12)
- Wisonsin burrata with tomato jam, ciabatta, extra virgin olive oil ($8)
- Proof Special: mozzarella, sweet heirloom peppers, sausage, giardiniera, roasted garlic ($13)
- Genoa: basil pesto, burrata, cherry tomatoes, prosciutto, parmesan ($13)
- (Brunch pizza) Blanca All'uovo: white sauce, mozzarella, sausage, smoked bacon, fried egg, proscuitto, chives ($15)
