After three years of planning, Bars & Recreation will bring Slingshot Bar to life in West Allis this fall. Slingshot Bar, located at 6325 W. National Avenue, is a first-of-its-kind bar set to bring a new mix of skill, bar culture and a hint of danger to the scene.
“No company has ever been so bold, and maybe a little bit nuts, to combine slingshots and tequila shots, so we think we may be on to something,” said David Poytinger, Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer at Bars & Recreation.
In the evening, Slingshot Bar will cater to adults, but during the day will focus on families.
“During the day, we want this to be a fun place for family gatherings and adventurous birthday parties. Then at night, we’re going to create an electric bar atmosphere, complete with the plinking sound of slingshots hitting targets and the cheers of successful shooters in the background," says Poytinger. "It’s going to be awesome.”
Slingshot shooting is gaining momentum worldwide, with local and national competitions becoming increasingly popular. Bars & Rec will debut the concept in the National Avenue corridor and contribute to the revitalization of West Allis.
“West Allis is on the rise, and businesses like Bars & Recreation are fueling that momentum,” said West Allis Mayor Dan Devine. “Slingshot Bar is bringing something unique and energizing to National Avenue, and I can’t wait to see people taking their best shots.”
Inside the facility, guests can expect a full bar, a dynamic open range, all equipment required for shooting, safety training from range marshals and private event space to host team-building and corporate groups.
"For those of you wondering, yes, this is real. We’re really doing this and we can’t wait to see you there," says Poytinger.
