The East Side Business Improvement District announced today that The Summer Soulstice Music Festival is on for the first time in three years.

The live music street party will take place on Saturday, June 18, and marks the event's 20th year. The festival is held primarily on North Avenue between Oakland and Prospect Avenues and surrounding side streets.

“I just think the timing is right. It has been a challenging few years and most people are ready to go back to some semblance of normalcy. I believe everyone is looking forward to getting out this summer and enjoying themselves," says the East Side’s Executive Director, David Smulyan.

Traditionally, the event included three musical stages along with a variety of vendors and activities. This year's event will feature one large stage and a couple of smaller musical venues, including one inside Black Cat Alley and possibly another near one of the three entrances to the Oak Leaf Bike Trail.

"The Summer Soustice will once again be a free showcase of great musical bands along with a variety of food, arts & crafts and activities," says Smulyan.
