While there are certainly plenty of festivals happening all over the Milwaukee area during the summer months, this year’s TosaFest has a particularly strong music lineup, amongst its many activities for the whole family.
This year’s festival takes place on September 5-6, with Friday’s events starting at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m. Three stages will feature live music throughout both days, along with five beer gardens, a Tosa-centric vendor market, and the family-friendly KidsFest.
Kicking off Friday, the Draft & Vessel will feature an Oktoberfest, with German beers on Wauwatosa Avenue and Harmonee. Music starts at 5 p.m. as well, on the Crivello Nichols & Hall State Street Stage, the Wire & Vice Underwood Stage, and the Exterior Pros Root Common Stage.
The food options are distinctly Wisconsin, as Friday offers the Euro Cheese Street Party from 6 to 8 p.m. with Village Cheese Shop and Fayette Creamery. Nearby, Le Reve and The Ruby Tap host a classic fish fry from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Root Common. Tickets for both are available through the TosaFest website.
Saturday features a volleyball tournament that utilizes the Hart Park volleyball courts, as well as a chili and cupcake contest (separately, of course) at St. John’s school. There’s also a cribbage tournament at Root Common, a cheese curd eating contest, and a wreath-and-wine flight event as well. No matter where you turn, there’s something to enjoy.
