Fight the FOMO with our guide to the Great Milwaukee Summer. We've got the hottest places to eat, drink, hang out, and all the things you love to do. Brought to you by Geis Garage Doors and UPAF (United Performing Arts Fund)!

Oh, go fly a kite, Milwaukee. No, seriously, go fly a kite this weekend!

Gift of Wings will host the annual Frank Mots International Kite Festival at Veterans Park this weekend. The event runs Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.. If you're looking for the festival, well, look up! There will be dozens of kites in the air at any point in the weekend. The annual festival takes place the weekend after Labor Day each year, and admission is free for families.

The festival also features giant kites flown by performers from across North America. A launch of more than 600 kites occurs daily at noon, creating a stunning display over Lake Michigan to launch the festival for the day.

Too Much Fun, a precision kite flying team from California, will perform three times each day.  This year's lineup of all-star kite fliers also includes Wow, Pro Style and the Chicago Fire Kite Team, amongst others. Connor and Amy Doran from America's Got Talent will perform alongside Fire & Ice and the Canadian Dream Team, as well this weekend. In the past, the Dream Team have flown oversized kites in the shape of whales, and they'll feature their all-new 120-foot Trilobite kite this year.

If you're looking for an afternoon of fun with the family before the fall sets in, embrace one last moment of summer fun with the Frank Mots International Kite Festival. Get more information about the event at the Gift of Wings website.
