Every month, Netflix releases its list of all the new arrivals coming to the streaming service. Well ... almost all of the new arrivals. See, sometimes Netflix just leaves a few movies or TV shows off its monthly lists – because they want to surprise you or because of behind-the-scenes changes or, I don't know, they just forgot. It's that kind of transparency we love about Netflix!

Which is a long way of saying: Surprise, there's a new Michelle Obama documentary debuting tomorrow on the Big Red Streaming Monolith!

Produced by Barack and Michelle Obama's Higher Ground Productions, "Becoming" is a behind-the-scenes look at the life and stories of the former First Lady as framed by her popular 2019 book tour that took her across the country (including Milwaukee's Miller High Life Theatre last March). Along the journey, speaking to crowds of thousands, she takes time to talk with schools, teen groups and other communities about what she learned during her time in the White House, but also before and after.

"This is totally me, unplugged, for the first time," says Michelle Obama at the end of a recently released trailer.

Seems like something you would've liked to have told people about sooner and given audiences some advanced notice about, but what do I know! I guess that's why I'm here – so tune into Netflix tomorrow for this new doc, then tune in to OnMilwaukee's Facebook page at 9:05 p.m. for a video review (with wine, natch) with yours truly. And if you need more to watch after "Becoming" – and we need more to watch these lockdown days – here's lists of 100 good movies you can watch on Netflix or Hulu.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
