For the 10th year, art and flowers come together for Bloomin’ Weekend at the Museum of Wisconsin Art (MOWA) in West Bend.
The popular event takes place from Friday, Nov. 4 through Sunday, Nov. 6. Guests will view imaginative floral installations created by local florists and artists on display throughout the museum’s galleries.
Bloomin’ kicks off on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. with the unveiling of an outdoor digital art installation by Milwaukee muralist and visual artist Emma Daisy projected onto the museum’s exterior.
Featured artist Leslie Iwai will transform MOWA’s atrium into an enchanted garden with a large-scale floral sculpture installation featuring 20-foot tulips entitled "Tulips for Clemens." The installation pays homage to the exhibition on view, "Magic Wilderness: Dreamscapes of the Forest," which celebrates the Wisconsin wilderness.
This year’s annual event also includes workshops taught by floral experts on how to create an evergreen swag or master the Japanese art of Ikebana to create a perfect floral arrangement. Workshops are $35 and require advanced registration.
