It's starting to feel like summer outside (*knocks on wood*), and to make things feel even more like those great warm Milwaukee months, the Big Gig today offered a taste of its grounds stage headliner lineup, revealing two acts coming to the BMO Harris Pavilion during Summerfest: the Steve Miller Band on June 26 and Styx on July 1.

Both classic rock acts are no stranger to Summerfest, with Steve Miller Band performing at the BMO Harris Pavilion for the Big Gig's 50th birthday in 2017 and Styx taking the U.S. Cellular Connection Stage just last year. But their timeless rock anthems – from Miller's "The Joker" to "Fly Like an Eagle" and "Rock'n Me," to Styx's "Come Sail Away," "Mr. Roboto" and "Lady" – never get old and are sure to draw a crowd of fans young and old to the Pavilion stage come this summer.

Bleacher seating for both BMO Harris Pavilion shows will be free to the public on  a first come, first served basis on the day of the show, while reserved seat tickets (in sections 1-5) will be sold in advance, both going on sale beginning Wednesday, March 11 at Ticketmaster or in person at the Summerfest box office. Steve Miller Band reserved admission will go on sale starting at 10 a.m. next Wednesday, while Styx tickets will go on sale at noon the same day.

Of course, this is merely a sample of the dozens upon dozens of big names headed to the Big Gig this summer, so stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more Summerfest grounds stage headliners as they are announced – and stay tuned for the final two Amp headliners still to be revealed.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
