The “Brady Beach” kicks off its fourth summer season this weekend with outdoor drinking and dining along with a summer-kickoff party. The "beach" includes the outdoor spaces at Nomad World Pub, 1401 E. Brady St., its neighbor Club Brady and a portion of North Warren Avenue.

The pilot program for "activated streets" started in 2020 in a partnership with the two adjacent taverns and the City of Milwaukee.

“We are excited to be able to bring back our transformational use of public space to create a vacation destination vibe with plenty of street seating in a peaceful, leafy setting,” said Mike Eitel, Nomad’s owner.

The street "beach" reopens on Friday, May 26 at 3 p.m. and will host a summer celebration on Sunday, May 28 featuring DJ Buttersauce, food and drink specials and a tequila tasting that runs from 3 to 10 p.m.

The Brady Beach will remain open through autumn.

“The impact on this neighborhood is amazing as it immediately increases public safety by calming traffic and allows for a relaxing outdoor space right smack in the middle of the hustle and bustle," says Eitel. "We are thankful for the great support from our Alderman, the Mayor and the City of Milwaukee as well as the incredibly positive feedback from neighbors, businesses and the Brady Street BID.”
