Do you belive in the Power of Friendship?!

The Milwaukee Brewers currently have everything working for them right now, and you could benefit from it for just the third time in team history if they win on Wednesday.

Tuesday’s definitive 14-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates was the team’s 11th straight win, marking the second 11-game winning streak of the season for the Crew.

Of course, that also means that if the Brewers win on Wednesday afternoon, then George Webb’s will be serving up free burgers, as part of a tradition that dates back (informally) as early as the 1940s. The prediction began appearing in advertisements in papers and at George Webb restaurants in Milwaukee as early as 1965, before the Braves left for Atlanta. When the Brewers came to Milwaukee, George’s son, Jim Webb, resurrected the free burger promotion for a dozen wins. Since then, Brewers fans have been on burger watch every summer, and the restaurant is all-in on the promotion as well, even offering a t-shirt with the retro prediction graphic on it.

If the team beats the Pirates on Wednesday, George Webb's will announce a specific day and time for the giveaway. Be sure to watch their website and social media for updates.

The 12-game streak has only been accomplished twice in team history. In 1987, the team did it for the first time, which led to nearly 170,000 free burgers handed out in the Milwaukee area. In 2018, the Crew did it again, with 190,000 burgers dished out between a combination of in-restaurant orders and vouchers for future free burgers. A win on Wednesday could see a similar demand, so expect some long lines (and have some patience while waiting for your freebies.)

Wednesday's game is set for a 1:10 p.m. first pitch from American Family Field. The Brewers have allowed just one run from the Pirates in first two games of the three-game series, and Brandon Woodruff is set to take the mound for the Brewers. Woodruff is 4-0 on the season so far, going up against the Pirates' Mitch Keller, who has a less than stellar 5-10 record on the season.

At 75-44, the Brewers have the best record in baseball, and they're the fastest Brewers team to reach 30 games over .500 ball as of earlier this week. Not surprisingly, the Brewers are -235 moneyline favorites at Potawatomi Sportsbook as of Wednesday morning, so if they do win, you could pay for some fries to go with your free burger, too.
