The Milwaukee Brewers currently have the best record in baseball as of last night, and you could benefit from it for just the third time in team history if they win on Tuesday.

Monday’s 6-0 win over the Seattle Mariners was the team’s 11th straight win, thanks to a strong outing on the mound from Brandon Woodruff, who pitched in the game to start the streak.

That means if the Brew Crew gets another win tonight, then George Webb’s will be serving up free burgers, as part of a tradition that dates back (informally) as early as the 1940s. The prediction began appearing in advertisements in papers and at George Webb restaurants in Milwaukee as early as 1965, before the Braves left for Atlanta. When the Brewers came to Milwaukee, George’s son, Jim Webb, resurrected the free burger promotion for a dozen wins. Since then, Brewers fans have been on burger watch every summer, and the restaurant is all-in on the promotion as well, even offering a t-shirt with the retro prediction graphic on it.

If the team wins tonight, George Webb will announce a specific day and time for the giveaway. Be sure to watch their website and social media for updates.

.The 12-game streak has only been accomplished twice in team history. In 1987, the team did it for the first time, which led to nearly 170,000 free burgers handed out in the Milwaukee area. In 2018, the Crew did it again, with 190,000 burgers dished out between a combination of in-restaurant orders and vouchers for future free burgers. A win on Tuesday could see a similar demand, so expect some long lines (and have some patience while waiting for your freebies.)

Tuesday’s game from Seattle is slated for an 8:40 Central first pitch. To add to the storylines from this game, first-year phenom Jacob Misiorowski is on the mound for Milwaukee, going up against Logan Gilbert for the Mariners. The Miz is 4-1 in five starts this year, and in a very short amount of time, made the NL All-Star team in his debut season. He’ll face a Mariners club that is five games back of the Houston Astros in the AL West, while Milwaukee picked up a full game on the Chicago Cubs atop the NL Central on Monday, thanks to their win and a Cubs loss.

At 60-40, the Brewers have the best record in baseball, and they matched the franchise’s best performance through 100 games so far with Monday’s win. Last night’s game was a pitcher’s duel into the sixth inning, when the Brewers broke things open with a four-run rally, and tacked on two more runs in the eighth.

To add to the matter, the Brewers are +107 moneyline underdogs at Potawatomi Sportsbook as of Tuesday morning, so if they do win, you could order some fries to go with your free burger, too.

Let’s go burgers! I mean Brewers!
