’Tis Dining Month, the tastiest time of year! This means we’re dishing up fun and fascinating food content throughout October. Dig in, Milwaukee! OnMilwaukee Dining Month is served up by Potawatomi Casino Hotel

Chef Ramses Alvarez opened his new riverside Mediterranean restaurant Briso Do Mar at 509 E. Erie St. this May. The restaurant serves a wide range of dishes from mezze and pizzas to wood-fired cuisine.

But beginning Friday, Oct. 18, guests can enjoy yet another meal at the art-filled restaurant: weekend brunch, served Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m..

On the menu

On the menu, guests will find a variety of items from Avocado toast spiced with Aleppo pepper, basil and red pepper seasoning and topped with a poached egg ($17);  Spanish omelets, including chicken pesto, vegetable and Mediterranean (sausage, feta, tomatoes spinach), each served with Greek potatoes or salad ($14-$15); and a variety of Benedicts from prosciutto and poached egg to wood-roasted salmon and chicken paillard ($17-20).

Greek casseroles are also a feature, including Cocotte de Poulet showcasing lemon chicken, potatoes, broccoli and herbed ricotta cheese ($19).

Guests can also take part in sweet breakfast items including lemon poppyseed pancakes topped with lemon curd and blueberries ($16); pumpkin spice waffles with caramel, pecans and pumpkin spiced whipped cream ($16); and classic French toast or bruleed French toast stuffed with ricotta and raisins ($15-$17). 

On the more savory side, there’s chicken and waffles featuring za’atar fried chicken over Belgian waffles drizzled with lavender syrup and served with a choice of bacon or sausage ($19)

Brunch at Briso Do Mar is served Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
