On Thursday, the City of Milwaukee’s Department of Public Works (DPW) announced the station selection for the next Bublr Bikes system expansion, which will add about 250 more bikes at 26 new stations to the nonprofit bike share system.
The system currently has 82 stations, including 58 in Milwaukee, 16 in Wauwatosa and eight in West Allis.
It is funded via a $1.9 million federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement (CMAQ) grant.
The goals of the expansion, according to the DPW, are to improve access to bike share by expanding into neighborhoods (though not all neighborhoods will get stations), increase ridership through strategic station placement and increased station density and reduce trips made by single occupancy vehicles.
DPW says that while some stations will be placed in site to fill in gaps in the existing system, the majority of the new stations will go to neighborhoods that currently have none.

The installation of these stations are expected to be completed in early 2021.

With his most recent band, The Yell Leaders, Bobby released four LPs and had a songs featured in episodes of TV's "Party of Five" and "Dawson's Creek," and films in Japan, South America and the U.S. The Yell Leaders were named the best unsigned band in their region by VH-1 as part of its Rock Across America 1998 Tour. Most recently, the band contributed tracks to a UK vinyl/CD tribute to the Redskins and collaborated on a track with Italian novelist Enrico Remmert.
He's produced three installments of the "OMCD" series of local music compilations for OnMilwaukee.com and in 2007 produced a CD of Italian music and poetry.
In 2005, he was awarded the City of Asti's (Italy) Journalism Prize for his work focusing on that area. He has also won awards from the Milwaukee Press Club.
He has be heard on 88Nine Radio Milwaukee talking about his "Urban Spelunking" series of stories, in that station's most popular podcast.
